Alibi Hostel is located in the centre of Leeuwarden in the former prison, “de Blokhuispoort”. You will find us on the first and second floor of cell block H. During the day you will find us by entering the main gates of the complex and walking all the way to the third and last courtyard.
You can take the stairs, or the elevator right next to the main entrance of the cell block to our reception on the second floor.
After 18:00 however, the main gates will be closed and an alternative route is in use. Just follow the arrows placed next to the gates and along the water to the back entrance of the complex.
Public transportation
Alibi Hostel is easy to find using public transportation. From the bus station (which is right next to the train station) buses leave to the hostel about every 10 minutes. Take line 3, 8, 21, 50 or 51 and get off at stop “Blokhuisplein”. This will cost you about €2,-.
If the weather is nice and you’re travelling light, Alibi hostel is about a 10 minute’s walk from the station.
Taxis are usually parked in front of the station and for less than €10,- they will bring you to us.
